Suit

I bought a suit off the street today, for $20 (!)

It even fits. It's a summer suit. The guy was selling them on 42nd and Broadway. They were flying off his rack very quickly and people walking by snatched them.

TW

Finally got around to returning my secondary cable box today. Went to the Time Warner center on 23rd and Madison Park. It'd been sitting on my table for months, and I never had time to take it back. Initially I kept it as a backup hooked up to a Tivo, because I wasn't sure how TW's own HD DVR was going to perform. Over time I discovered it was almost just as good as Tivo, so I discontinued the Tivo subscription and unhooked the secondary cable box.

There was kind of a long line, to be expected on a Saturday, but fine. Funny how New Yorkers say "wait on line" instead of "wait in line."

I did the standard Outback and Best Buy after returning the box.

Misc observations

The new Dannon yogurts have super-thin paper lids that are pretty much impossible to peal off in one piece. They are mixed with aluminum foil, but they are too thin and they tear immediately when you try to pull on them. Their attempt to save on product packaging went too far, they are made too cheaply now.

Seems like every girl in Manhattan uses this Kiehl's brand lip balm instead of the regular store brands, interesting. I wonder what made it so popular.

Sat

Last night the city was packed because of the nice weather, all clubs and restaurants were hopping, almost as if it were a summer night.

The meatpacking was a traffic jams from midnight to 5 am, as cars tried to move about. Went into a couple regular spots, but ended up at this random club in the West Village, with a foosball table (a Tornado of course) and very friendly patrons, where I met Gina and her friends.

Didn't get home until very late, and consequently got up late this morning. I have a few errands to run, I'd better get ready.

Fri

Awesome weather all day, like 72 F. It's 9:30 pm, and it's still 63 F right now. All the restaurants around work were packed all day, their terraces open and super-crowded. Markt had a long line to get a table for lunch!

Had lunch at Vento with a colleague, great olives as usual. Had a light dinner also in the meatpacking area, great table overlooking the scene, sipping a Martini. A photo shoot for Cosmopolitan magazine across the street. Cute redhead model

Got a txt from Julian. May have to head out again tonight, maybe the Village
