The weather got progressively better this week, culminating with a Saturday in the high 50s, felt warm outside. Unfortunately it also rained all day, and it's supposed to get much worse tonight with heavy rain.
Here is a quick album with some pictures from the snow storm about a week ago, the first storm of this winter:
January 2014 - Early Snow Storm
The big storm hit the city last night and we woke up to tons of snow this morning. Some huge amount of plows and salt trucks were working all night, so things were reasonable on the main roads and sidewalks. We took a trip to Whole Foods this morning, and to Dominique Ansel's Bakery this evening in search of his famous Cronuts. The morning trip was fine because 14th street sidewalks are pretty good. But the evening trip was significantly colder, temperatures had dropped to about 10 F, and Spring Street wasn't in great shape. A lot of snow may freeze overnight which will make it tougher to get it removed.
