The freezing temperatures continue this winter. We had another significant snow storm yesterday, but today most of the main roads had been cleared again, at least in Manhattan.

A significant water main broke in the city this week. Apparently one breaks per day, but this was as significant enough breakage that water flooded 5th avenue and 13th street in the Greenwich village, near where we live. I could see a ton of trucks and personnel working Wednesday night when I got home. Traffic had to be re-routed, and they had been working on it for several days and they are not done yet. They had to open a huge hole in the ground, pictures from NYTimes below.

Another week going by fast, it's already mid January. My parents went back to Spain on Tuesday, so sad. We miss them already. They had a nice trip back, and hopefully we will see again in the summer.

The weather is back to normal this week with temperatures more reasonable than the past few weeks.
