Spain makes it thru to the final
Wow, that was close today, tied at the end of the game, penalty kicks decided the winner, and Spain finished on top! The final will be played this weekend. Spain will face the winner of tomorrow's game featuring Germany vs. Italy.
From ESPN:
"A bruising semifinal encounter was won by Spain on penalties, 4-2, after a scoreless tie and, amazingly, a shootout that didn’t feature Cristiano Ronaldo, who was waiting his turn before Cesc Fabregas won the match for La Roja. The game saw more yellow cards (nine) than shots on goal (seven) and was not always easy on the eye, but Portugal will draw satisfaction that, even in defeat, it made Spain look mortal, for one evening at least."
