Had dinner with Chip and Fran at this charming little restaurant in the Greenwich Village called the Elephant & Castle. If you click on their link you can read about the name history, pretty interesting. The NY version has been around for 20+ years. Great food. Their grilled calamari were awesome.
On the way back I got derailed several times. I had to go into Strand Bookstore, on Broadway and 12th, one of the largest bookstores in the world. So may books, on every possible subject. I could spend hours browsing around their used, rare and out of print books sections. I also went into the Virgin Megastore on Union Square for a while.
Took the Lex Av. 6 subway back home.
