Amazon Subscribe and Save is Sneaky: they tried to increase the price by 33%

Amazon Subscribe and Save just tried to increase the price of one item I purchase by 33%, that seems wild. Let's pause for a moment... we are talking about toilet paper here, and they tried to increase my price by 33%. That is insane and shocking.

It's more disturbing the fact that the same item is for sales for significantly LESS than the new Subscribe and Save price that Amazon is trying to charge me. I simply cancelled the subscription and re-joined it to avoid to price jump.

This seems pretty sneaky. I have a bad feeling that Amazon is aggressively increasing some of these item subscriptions behind the scenes far more than warranted, and taking advantage of customers because of the convenience factor. This is not great and sad to see.

Balcells house ready for Xmas

Nicole finished decorating the outside of the house last weekend, looks beautiful with the lights. So many neighbors stopped by to say they love it. Her alter ego is definitely an interior/exterior decorator.

HABA Nativity Set

Every year around this time I like to display my HABA wooden Nativity set. Is super simple and stylized, with solid, sturdy, beechwood pieces, made in Germany. I think looks cool and captures de spirit of the Holidays.

An evening with Katie Ledecky

This week we attended an event as a family at the Long Island University Tilles Center for the Performing Arts - beautiful venue, by the way. It was in Brookville, so a bit of a drive, over an hour for us. It was a fireside chat interview live with Katie Ledecky - the all time female GOAT of long distance swimming. It was hosted by well know NY sports caster Bruce Beck. It was a fun event.

The Great Gatsby Turns 100

The famous novel turned 100 recently,

"The tempo of the city approached hysteria. Stocks reached record peaks & Wall Street boomed a steady golden roar. The parties were bigger, the shows were broader, the buildings were higher, the morals were looser, & the liquor was cheaper." // The Great Gatsby
