Pizza, foil, music

Just baked a pizza for dinner. The properties of aluminum foil's never cease to amaze me. Its ability to quickly absorb and then release heat is very cool. It can be in the over at 450 F, you take it out, and within 10 seconds you can touch it, while the food is still at 400 F.

Anyway, song of the week: When You Where Young by The Killers

Sun eve

Interesting how GameFly is trying to replicate the success of the mail-in movie rental business with video games. They have them for every console and system, unlimited rentals for $21.95 a month. I suppose it will work, although the dynamics may be a bit different than with movies because people tend to keep a video game for a longer period of time.

Sunday

Weekend is almost over. Went out for a bit yesterday, saw Russel and Colleen. Got up and went to Wired's NextFest at the Javits Center this morning. It was cool, tons of geeks, but also families. The 2 things I thought were coolest were: a) a vein viewer by Memphis-based Luminetx Corp, see pic below,

and b) Kokoro's actroid, DER. The Japanese robotics company has managed to create a very realistic robot, you have to see her to believe it. She moves and talks, shows emotion, and by next year she will be able to walk. Blade Runner anyone? Or AI.
