and i did in fact watch the latest true blood episode last night, and it just now getting to be good again, and as usual, we are about run out of episodes for the season, bah.
in other news, i saw yelp and facebook retreated from the daily deals space, no wonder, after seeing groupon's trouble, and not having cracked the loyalty aspect of it (which next jump is much better at, with their wowpoints

back to work today, most people made it in just fine, the MTA restored a lot of the services today.

word is amazon is building a tablet, may pose a decent competition to the ipad. will probably be lighter and cheaper.

posted a quick album with pictures of the hurricane approaching the city. all good, seems like it has passed and there is fairly minimal damage.
Hurricane Irene Over The Manhattan Skyline
ok, been up since about 7 this morning, checking things out. irene hit manhattan around 8 am, heavy rain and some wind, but it passed pretty quickly. no apparent damage in our area, near union square. i see people out on the streets now, walking around. valentino's new market, a deli nearby is open for business. almost no rain anymore, and no wind. the sun is trying peak out. no power loss either.
i would guess it may take another day for the MTA to be back up, so some people may not be able to get to the city monday morning. tue should be fine, i think.
sandbags downtown, times square almost empty earlier tonight, and a NASA picture of irene approaching the east coast.
the media frenzy continues on TV as well . right now it's just rain, not even too heavy yet, and a little bit of rain.
