Wed

Wed evening. Been feeling kind of sick these past couple of days. Got home a few min ago. Fixin something to eat. Will likely go to bed soon tonight . Finished sync'ing a second 500 Gb mirror on my SC101 toaster, that gives me an extra layer of redundancy for the MP3 collection. Only 60 Gb free on the drive, not sure what I will do once it's full!

Had dinner w/ Nicole at The Smiths last night, on 11th and 3rd Ave, excellent tomato soup .

Nate will be here tomorrow afternoon. We are going to have dinner at Annisa's, with Renee, Lindsay, Hans and Nicole. Going to a Super Bowl party for a bit on Sunday. Next week I'm going to Jose to the Apollo for some stand up comedy.

Unions/rats

In NYC, unions put up this huge inflatable rat in front of buildings that hire non-union workers, or simply cross unions in any other way. Seems like a pretty outrageous thing to me, buildings should be able to hire whomever they want, union or non-union, but there may be a more complex story behind it that I don't know. Here is a pic of the inflatable that has been in front of the Empire State Building (across the street from it) for a few weeks now:


Sat/Sunday

And Sharapova ended up winning the Australian Open yesterday. Met up with Hans for a while this afternoon to talk about a work project, then we had a beer at Playwright. Talked to Pep on the phone, he is in Boston and will be spending a few days in Maine this week. Yesterday we went to Microcenter in Paterson, NJ. Very cool store . We had dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse, my favorite steak place . We picked up Nicole on our way back, she was home doing some shopping, running errands and visiting her dad.

At Microcenter, we playing Rock Band for a while, super fun. May have to get a console to play it at home, we'll see. Been thinking about it for a while. A PS3 or a 360. Here is a picture of Pep playing guitar

Harmony 890

Bought a Logitech Harmony 890 Advanced Universal Remote today to replace my aging Sony Remote Commander (which still works great, and I have had for many years.) Let's see if the Harmony is up to the task.

Saw that both Federer and Nadal lost at the Australian Open, interesting. On the female side, we have a pretty glamorous final: Sharapova and Ivanovic square off tonight. Playing right now.

Fri

And it's Friday! Got home a few moments ago. Had to run a couple errands, stopped by Duane. BTW, had dinner at Bar Veloce, East Village last night, very cool, and the went into Uncle Tom's for a while.

Haven't had dinner yet, let's see. Will head out in a bit. Continues to be super chilly out.

Pep said our 8 Gb drives should be delivered today, cool . He tried a SSD on his hard drive, but it didn't perform very fast, so he is switching back to a regular HD again.
