Got chilly all of a sudden today, was shaking on my way back home. We heard some sort of an explosion in Midtown Manhattan earlier this evening, not sure what happened, maybe a manhole blew up or something, will have to check out the news on TV. At first I thought it was this thing about an M train colliding with a barrier at the end of a track, but that happened earlier this morning. The explosion was around 7 pm. On the way back home there were cops on 5th at every corner and the traffic was blocked south of 34th st. Didn't seem like it was anything big because they are all pretty calm.
Pretty long days today and yesterday. Exchanged some emails with Rachel, an ex-colleague from work, she is doing great. Toni seems to be super-active during his stay in Vancouver, that's good.
I am so behind on TV, will never catch up, but that's fine. Tons of episodes have accumulated.
Last night I had dinner with a friend at Les Halles, one of my favorites, and then went out for a bit in the East Village. Met some friends at Swift, cool.
Saw this evite for Scott's bday party this weekend, I guess I will stop by, he is super-nice guy.
Big meetings at work again tomorrow, should be interesting. Getting to meet really interesting people.
While in Atlantic City, we had dinner at Longhorn, my favorite steak house. I had my usual Caesar's salad and Flo's fillet with a side of mushrooms, delicious
. Todat we had lunch at Chrisitana Mall in Delaware on the way back.
I am back in home! Great weekend trip, we had a great time gambling
. I ended up being even Steve after playing some Texas Hold'em, and mostly Black Jack for several hours. Tried several casinos, and finally settled on Bally's where we spent most of the time. Chilly on Saturday, but much nicer today Sunday.
We took a detour on the way back and stopped by Philly and Delaware to do some shopping (no taxes!) We hit a traffic jam on I-95 approaching the city, to be expected. Took us about 45 min to get over the George Washington Bridge. I hang out at my friend Pep's in Harlem for a bit, and he dropped me off at my place a few min ago.
I will try to post a few pics when I get the chance.
