Music

Listening to Mika's Grace Kelly, cool song. Since I am multitasking, doing a million things at the samer time, and iTunes is still processing away taking up most of the CPU cycles, I went into Task Manager and told the OS to give the application the lowest possible priority (I don't care whether in takes 20 or it takes 30 hours.) That's the equivalent of spawning a process with "nice" under Unix, Linux, etc.

Pictures, friends and guests, summer 07

Here are a bunch of pics from this summer that I had been meaning to post for a while! All taken from my Blackberry, so the quality is not up to par as compared my other pics. They cover a few weeks, going out with friends Kaye & Ace, hanging out with ex-colleagues from work, Toni's visit, Eva, Juanito, etc.

5th Ave Pavement Repairs

Kind of a rare event, the city is repairing the pavement in 5th Ave. The've busted it all up and there is have machinery working on it every night, they cut a lane or two at a time. Looks like a major project, I guess it may take several weeks before they get done with it. Here are some shots from my phone, both night and day.

iTunes processing

Talked to Pep a bit earlier, he is going downtown to try and buy a protective case for his shiny new iPhone . We may go out with Eva and Regina later this evening, we'll see.

So, my iTunes is still processing album artwork. Looks like it's going to take foreeeever. It's been several hours already, and it's barely made a dent into the collection.

Albert's iTunes processing Album Artwork

Monday morning

Got up fairly early this morning, been reading the paper and such. Going to head out and run a couple quick errands shortly.

I had been having trouble with iTunes for a while. Every since one of my external hd's crashed and I restored my MP3 collection, I had not re-added it to the iTunes library. When I tried to do so, invariably iTunes crashed after a few minutes. I think it had to do with its inability to process a few of the files. I found and temporarily moved the those files to another location, and now it appears to be happy and has been processing for a while. It may take it a few hours to re-add the entire collection (some 40,000 songs.) I am also using this cool feature where you can tell it to go get the album artwork, that's very cool. The software overall is still quite buggy and slow, and has many issues on the PC, but I am willing to continue and evaluate it, see whether it gets better over time.
