Cinci

In Cinci for business. Got here last night. Delayed by a couple hours due to LGA evening traffic, kind of standard. Checked into the familiar Millennium downtown. Budget was almost out of cars and gave me Jeep Commander, kind of cool . It's navy blue.

Got to work very early this morning, I was the first one in.

Sorolla

I noticed Christie's in London is auctioning 9 paintings by Spanish painter Joaquin Sorrolla, including Valencian Fisherwoman, featured below, valued at over 2.2 million Euros. This is part of a lot dedicated to XIX century Spanish painters.

Wed

Kind of a long day, got to work before 7 am. Been recording most World Cup games on my DVR.

Of the games I've watched, so far, I think Ecuador, England, Portugal, Czech Republic, Croacia, Italy, and Brazil have looked quite good, whether they won or lost. Let's see what happens. Spain plays tomorrow, they will probably choke as usual.

Hans sent a really funny Slate soccer article yesterday, made me laugh quite a bit:

Really worth if you have a few minutes

Mon

Got caught up with today's games, very interesting. The US got crushed by Czech Republic, too bad . Looked very weak, let's see if they can pick it up Saturday in front of Italy.

Mild weather, which is nice. Relatively quiet at work, for a Monday. But I have a super-early meeting tomorrow, gotta be at work by 7 or something.

Friends

Talked to a good friend, Karsten, for a while tonight. He sent a few pics of their 2 kids, below. May have to go to Seattle and visit them in September.
