No Instant Replay for 2010 World Cup

Been following this,

"In an emergency meeting here Wednesday, FIFA's executive committee decided to assign a committee to look closely at the effects of adding an official on each goal line, bringing the total number of officials to six, or adding video replay reviews. But the results of those investigations will have no effect on the next World Cup.

The soccer world has been in a state of crisis the past two weeks after officials missed an obvious and seemingly intentional hand ball by French captain Thierry Henry that led to a deciding goal in France's final qualifying match against Ireland."

mini trip

I have an upcoming mini-trip this week, flying out to Pittsburgh on Friday to visit CMU, will be good. Still have this bad cough, see if it goes away. Kind of a pain because it gives me a headache too. Tsk, tsk.

Chrome and overlapping windows

Chrome has this interesting behavior I can't exactly reproduce. I haven't tried very hard, I am sure there is a pattern. What it does is, when it's on top of another window, if you click on the body of the window underneath, it won't bring it to the forefront. I mean, if you select a control, or anything, it will do it, but Chrome remains on top. It does this until you click somewhere on the frame of the window underneath, and then it comes to the forefront and Chrome goes under. I can't recall any other application doing this.

iTunes does something unusual too, not the same, but non-standard. If it doesn't have focus, it takes 2 clicks to get it to do what you want: one click to make it the forefront app, and another one on the action or control you want to activate it. Windows apps in general do no behave in this way, a single click gets you the app to the forefront, and if you clicked on a ui control or action, it performs it.

December starts, only 1 month till the end of the year. Feeling still under the weather, let's see how I wake up tomorrow, hope better than today. Going to go to bed soon, get some sleep.

Fast forwarded through Melrose Place, it is OK. I wanted Final Destination 4 recently, it wasn't very good, expected more. I am sort of a fan of the series, but there was no connection at all to any previous movies, as if it were a completely isolated episode, bah.

Nate called, he is going to be here next week most likely, that will be good.
