Mon eve

And reporting back in, all good. Got to meet a few more of my new colleagues, and we had lunch - on the company - at a French restaurant on Madison Ave, I had paella (which of course is a Spanish dish)!

The dress code is a lot more serious that at my previous place, no jeans, etc, they want to portray a very professional environment at all times.

The commute is great, literally takes me 5 minutes to get to/from work. Kevin S. called and we caught up, he is an ex-colleague from work, great developer.

Monday

And off to work. First day at the new job . A bit chilly out, like low 50's.

Stats

Interesting reports from Hitwise, I check them out monthly to see if there are any surprises:

US - Leading Search Engines - April, 2007

US - Top 20 Websites - April, 2007

They have a few other good ones.

Sun eve

Talked to my parents earlier, and also with Bill, caught up. Been checking out the new Yahoo Movies site a bit more, it's fairly nice. Lots of HD trailers, a worthy competitor to Apple's Quicktime site. Downloaded a few of the trailers, we are entering summer movie season, tons of movies coming up. Looks like the new Die Hard is going to be over the top, judging from the trailer. BTW, it's relatively easy to cause a buffer overrun on QuickTime's player, even the very latest patched version. All you have to do is download 2 trailers/movies, which pops 2 separate instances of the player, then save one of them as a "self-contained" movie, and try to play the second one while the first one is saving. This will cause the player to crash and report buffer overrun.

Sun

A little cooler today, and kind of rainy. Got up kind of late, which I like to do on Sundays. Time to read the paper for a while.
