WD My Book 3 TB
My new 3 TB WD external hard drive arrived today from Tiger Direct. It's one of the new generation drives with > 2 TB capacity. It was a little pricey but having that much capacity on a single unit justified it. I have been playing with it, seems OK, works well, comes with its own driver. The only disappointment is that the WD TV Live media player won't; recognize it, the current firmware doesn't support anything above 2 TB. I traded emails with one of their engineers, sounds like they are working on a firmware update that may provide that support, but it's not guaranteed yet. they have had a lot of trouble with data getting corrupted on the larger drives, even their own. Has to do with cluster sizes, etc.
In any event, I have hooked up the drive via USB 3 to my server, will use it as a network share for the time being.
