saw earlier this week that the spanish (as in from spain) flash sales company buyvip was purchased by amazon for about $100MM. interesting. the space is so hot that all the big players are eager to jump on anything that looks good.

dinner with colleagues from work at the Double Crown restaurant in NoLiTa. Asia fusion. Pretty good, but the type of cuisine is not my thing. very pleasant out, was able to walk home. overcast, looks like it might continue to rain.

checking out google tv. makes sense, kind of cool. so far we have experienced for years the super clunky interfaces of the cable (Time Warner Mystro anyone) or satellite companies, or tivo, which is a whole lot better BTW. but integrating that with the web could be interesting. let's see. seems like only a couple of manufacturers have products ready, a set top box from logitech or a sony tv with it built in. more will come for sure. but the main networks are nowhere to be found, also as expected....
