Storm

Another storm went thru our area today, starting this afternoon. A bit of wind, and some snow. The temperature is pretty cold, around 32 F right now, but the snow seems to have mostly melted in the streets, it's not sticking, which is good. Hope the whole thing is gone by tomorrow!

Heat & Hot Water

ConEd crews were in our building all day, and restored heat and hot water - woohoo! We now have all services back, and everything is good again. Let's hope the big North Eastern storm that is approaching the area again and should hit us by Wed won't do it again.

Chilly out, about 34 F right now, uff.

November 4th

The weekend is almost over, tomorrow we go back to work and hopefully things will start getting back to normal. ConEd says we should get steam back on Tuesday, which will power up our hot water and heating. There is a chance it may take a full week, but we are keeping our fingers crossed for Tuesday. In the meantime we are running our space heaters cranked to the max. The weather hasn't been too bad today, Sunday, but I think it's supposed to get cooler overnight and tomorrow night as well. We will have to pile up the blankets

We ran a bunch of errands this afternoon, including doing some food shopping, going to the post office (actually, the mailman was in today - on a Sunday, pretty cool), going to Babies'r'Us, and more.

BTW, I also got the Twitter widget on the right hand side of the page running again. They deprecated the old API calls, and it stopped working. Took me a couple minutes to get it back again using their new calls.

Power is back

The Wedgwood and East 14th street got power back around 4 am today, finally there is light. About an hour later we got water back. ConEd is telling us no hot water or heat till probably Tue or Wed. They are saying they don't have enough capacity to serve all customers on the rebuilt grid. Bah.

We are making do with space heaters for now, though we may have to go elsewhere to take a shower.
