Game night

Game night at work, played poker for a while, made it pretty far, top 5 I think, I was trying to finish quickly because I still had things to do at the office, but I kept winning. In any event, got home a bit ago.

Saw there is a pretty good deal for Rock Band 2 in Amazon, may have to consider. Nicole has the day off tomorrow, nice. In related news, Les Paul. the original guitar hero, died today.

Tomorrow will be Friday, the weekend is here. Traded emails with Roland today, we are going to try and catch up soon.

Tue

Heard from an old friend, Jeff B., today. It turns out he has relocated to Brooklyn with his company. That's cool, we used to work together while we lived in the Midwest. Will try and see if we can meet up and catch up.

Totally unrelated, I was reading today how Dell has decided to dump their 12 inch netbooks. Sounds like a bad decision. I guess they erode the market share of more fully featured laptops, and the margins are too low.

Intel charges more for Atom processors used on netbooks with screens larger than 10-inches. Microsoft actively pushes against netbooks with screens larger than 10-inches, more than 1GB RAM, or a hard drive larger than 160GB. That's all outrageous, they should not be able to do that! In any event, Acer and many other manufacturers hopefully will continue to sell the 12-inchers. I am sure this will be an unpopular decision for Dell, they will regret it.

Reading

The papers and PC World Sept 09. Kinda clouded, looks like it's going to rain any minute now...

Twitter

Twitter seems to be more or less back up, after the DoS attacks this week that took it down for days. My feed wasn't showing up, and now it is. Working on getting all the software re-installed on the new computer. I thought it would be able to reconfigure itself and recognize the new hardware, but no luck. Required a full re-install, bah. I think I only have 3 or 4 things left, the ftp client, hypersnap and Nero, and I should be ready to go with the basics. Other stuff I will install as needed over time.
