got home a bit ago, just finishing up with late dinner, and it's time to read the news.

enjoying a couple things about the new iphone 4s. the main thing that jumps at you is speed, its A5 dual-core chip is significantly faster than any previous iphones. they say it can even play mkv files, which I will have to test out. the other nice thing is the messaging center, I like how messages are delivered, it's clean and smooth. the last thing that seems nice is iMessage, works pretty well and circumvents sms for apple-to-apple messaging. As I may have mentioned before, the carriers should be worried about the slow down of data services.

Just upgraded my MacBook Pro to 8 Gb of RAM. Cost is about $35, and time investment about 15 minutes. Pretty easy, and so far so good. Everything feels a little snappier and more responsive, I launched PhotoShop, Skype, Spotify, iPhoto, Chrome and TeamViewer all at the same time, and the amount of memory free was still around 5 Gb

Upgraded to the iPhone 4s this evening. Waited for about 15 min. at the Apple store in the Meatpacking. The process was pretty fast and smooth. A little intrusive as usual with Apple & AT&T (asking for ID, last 4 of social, etc.)

The swap at home was easy, backed up the 4, plugged in the 4s, restored, and off you go. Had to retype passwords and settings for a few apps, but that's it. The s feels faster, everything works a little better, more responsive.

Got a white one this time.
