Donald Trump calls it home but so do 7,719 other people worth at least $30 million. In fact, more of the nation's super rich live in New York than any other U.S. city.

Altogether, there are 57,860 ultra high net worth individuals in the U.S. and 13% of them live in the New York City area, according to a study released Tuesday by Wealth-X, a Singapore-based research firm. Wealth-X defined ultra high net worth individuals as those with at least $30 million in assets, including art, real estate and other property.

sadly, dennis ritchie died earlier this week. I remember buying his C book, one of the first programming books i read.

he co-authored the C language and the Unix operating system, working with Kernigham and Thompson respectively. he was from NY, and worked at Bell Labs. one of the great engineers of our time.

and my birthday is almost over, just another 30 minutes and it will be done . nice day, got a cake at work, and another one at home, pretty awesome. and olives. and chocolates. and over 30 facebook messages, geez.

in other news, looks like hulu is taking itself off the block, no longer for sale. probably for the better, somebody else would screw it up. though kind of a tough balance due to the co-ownership structure they have in place. will be interesting to see where it goes.

and netflix killing qickser (or however they spelled the ridiculous name) before it was even born. they are rolling back bad decisions one after the other, haha. they totally deserved the consumer backlash, arrogant idiots, servers them well. they will be more careful next time.

one more day for the weekend. i am tied up with some work stuff on saturday, but hopefully free later in the evening and sunday.

weather continues to be super nice, in the mid 60s right now. let's hope it lasts as long as possible.
