wrapping up the weekend, getting ready to head to bed. backing up a few things on my desktop, had dinner (leftovers from yesterday's dinner) and watched an episode of nikita. got a txt from bill saying they are getting tons of snow in the midwest. nothing here yet, hope stays that way.
Got up a bit later than usual today, needed some good sleep. Nicole and I had to run a few errands this afternoon, stopped by Le Pain Quotidien on Broadway and 11th for lunch, and went to the Halloween Adventure store nearby to get our masks for our company Holiday party, which will be this Friday. added some seasonal decorations to the site homepage , i think they look nice and colorful. also played with font sizes and ended up increasing the fonts from 11 to 12px on the homepage, i think they look nicer, makes a difference.
been playing with my new macbook pro this morning. the experience out of the box is so nice, way nicer than Lenovo's for example where you end up with this bloated set of screens and hundreds of programs you have to uninstall, ugh. everything on the mac is smooth. love the keyboard, backlit, i can type on it super fast right away, the key spacing is perfect. the laptop itself is a little heavier that it would seem given its small footprint. feels pretty snappy, and battery life is good. the screen is really clear and bright. i went ahead and used bootcamp to install windows 7, some glitches but it's mostly working as well. it's curious how different the screen rendering is on the macs vs the pcs. the macs blur text a bit, using font aliasing technologies. pcs can do that too, but they do it less and it's not always on by default. this leads to a very unique look for webpages and apps on a mac vs a pc. anyway, will report more as i get used to it.
Finished watching The Expendables last night, pretty bad, but fun.
