Apple's earnings call today, their first 20b quarter with 70% profits, impressive. Steve Jobs decided to drop - he usually doesn't attend these - and ended up dominating the call and slamming RIM, Google and the new crop of upcoming 7" tablets in the process. Fun, Jobs at his best 
the weekend coming to an end. we ordered from The Smith, and watched an episode of Nikita, which is not bad. like a super simple version of Alias, which is a good thing.
reading the papers now, and also doing some research for our halloween costume
saw the social network, about the story of facebook. or at least a narrow portion of it, focused on mark's personality and the lawsuits by several of his colleagues and friends. generally decent, plays almost as a documentary of sorts. back home now, adding media to my shiny central storage unit, close to 2 Tb full now .
btw, i did some experiments today to see the effect of the 5 GHz phone on my N wireless network. when the phone is on and with an active conversation it causes massive interference dropping the connection speed to 13 Mbps. file transfers consequently are reduced to about 6 Mbps. as soon as you hang up, connection goes up to 162Mbps+ and file copy jumps up to 70 Mbps. i figured there was interference but did not realize it would be so severe!
yes! it works! just attached the array to my media player and it works great, no issues. i now have plenty of storage attached to it, perfect. this is exactly what i was looking for, a massive data silo that is available to all devices on my home network, including media players.
back home from work! super rainy all day in the city. took an M5 bus down fifth and got home in no time. getting ready to eat late dinner and maybe watch CSI for a bit while I read the paper.
thank you to everybody who wished me a happy birthday yesterday - a lot of people via facebook! nicole bought me a chocolate cake with my name on it, and i ate some of it last night
