spain did it today! beat germany 1-0 with a goal from puyol. very cool. will be playing holland on sunday for the first time ever in a world cup final.

And a new week starts, a shorter one. In sports, following up on the comments from over the weekend, Spain did move on to the semis and will be playing on Wed vs. Germany, should be a good game. On Tue, Holland should be able to beat Uruguay relatively easily I think.

Nadal conquered Wimbledon for a second time, great game. From Sports Illustrated:

" What sets Nadal apart is the constant evolution of his game. Every aspect of it is improving, especially at the net, where his elegant backhand volley gave him a 4-3 lead in the second set. Perhaps most importantly, he doesn't treat the backhand as a single, machine-like entity. The two-hander speaks for itself, but Nadal has become particularly adept with the one-handed slice, particularly when he's returning those first-serve bombs from the likes of Berdych and Robin Soderling. It's good to know that variety and ingenuity still have meaning in this game."

Definitely a sports weekend, watched both germany's and spain's games yesterday, fun. in the evening we had dinner with friends at Hearth, in the East Village. great food, and very quiet. the city tends to be half empty this weekend, which is great.

watching rafa play in the wimbledon final right now, hope he wins!

woohoo, a long weekend ahead. got home and stayed in this evening. following the world cup closely, brazil was stunned today and got eliminated by netherlands. let's see what happens tomorrow, two great games: germany vs argentina, and spain vs. paraguay. will be watching both. also in sports, nadal will be playing the wimbledon final again, cool. just watching a recap of murray's defeat now.

in technology, i installed a wireless range extender. i am kind of skeptical as to how much of a difference it will make, but seems to be working so far. configuration was a pain, as expected. took me a while to get it working, but once it did, it's all good. get strong connection in the back bedroom now.
