Wow, I had to post about this. But it's not that surprising. From the NYTimes:
About 3,000 New York City taxi drivers routinely overcharged riders over two years by surreptitiously fixing their meters to charge rates that would normally apply only to trips outside the five boroughs, according to the city’s Taxi and Limousine Commission.
Interesting, Broadband.gov is now up, lets you test your speed (it just uses a couple of the standard tests, like OOkla.
It also talks about the National Broadband Plan, blah, blah 
Famous Spanish novelist Miguel Delibes, Cervantes Prize Winner, died yesterday at 89. An estimated 20,000 people went to see his body lie in state at Valladolid Council House. His funeral was held at Valladolid Cathedral today.
Some of his novels are must read Spanish classics, such as Cinco Horas Con Mario/ Five Hours With Mario

met up with my friend Steve for dinner and drinks tonight. had not seen him in may years. it was great catching up, he now lives in dallas, tx, and happens to be in nj doing some consulting work for his company.
we stopped by home, then headed out and ended up at the smith. super packed and loud as usual, but awesome food. he had to go take a train back to his hotel, so just dropped him off at penn station a few min ago. fun.
Pretty good day, got to meet Mr Barry Sternlicht, quite a sharp and interesting guy, very impressive. Watching CSI Miami now, having dinner. Finally a new episode. Not going to stay up very late, need to catch up a bit on sleep.
Heard from my ex-colleague and friend Steve today, he is doing some consulting work in NJ, so sounds like we should be able to meet up one of these evenings, cool.
