Tue

I guess it's Wed already, not even Tue. Days go by soo fast. Super nice out, in the 40's, feels like summer . We came back from Whole Foods a bit ago, got a few things. Some progress by the contractor today, he installed the stove hood, although he has to refinish the wall. He also started cutting the countertops.

A bit of a long day at work, but good. Heard from Pep, he is traveling through Northern England and Ireland for a few days. He might cancel his conference trip to the US in early March.

Monday

Typical Monday, got home around 10 or so.

The contractor keeps cutting the power at home to do various things, so I have to keep restarting my home server. Today I had an IP conflict between the Netgear SC101 toaster (serious candidate for one of the worst pieces of hardware ever created) and my desktop. Annoyingly the Netgear is very stubborn and refuses to budge, had to end up changing my desktop's IP (i have fixed IPs so I can do port forwarding and connect to it from anywhere via remote desktop). Anyway, when I changed the IP everything on the desktop was fine, but the TW stmp server got confused and started refusing my email messages:

550 5.7.0 Mail Sending denied

That's the message I was getting. After disabling and re-enabling the NIC it was fine again.

BTW, TWC keeps sending me the snail mail bills to my old apartment, their customer service is weak and so is their ability to solve billing issues. Seems like their personnel's training is extremely poor. It was a major headache changing service from my old location to the current one. They were, in fact, not capable, and ended up shutting down the old account (incorrectly) and opening a new one. Then they forgot to completely disable service at the old address, etc, etc. Many phone calls later, and they still can't get it straight, awful, truly.

Weekend

Yesterday we took a trip to Ikea again to get our faucet and some handles for the drawers, they never delivered them on the original delivery. After some arguing with customer service we talked with the store manager, and eventually he came through for us and gave us the items we were missing, albeit reluctantly. Be careful if you buy at Ikea and have items delivered, they make you sign this tricky contract where you agree to take inventory of everything within 48 hours and notify them. Trouble is, if you buy an entire kitchen, you have hundreds of boxes, literally, and it's practically impossibly to take inventory of so much stuff in that short of a timeframe. Kind of a shady practice if you ask me, totally to their advantage. In any case, took a while and we had to make a lot of noise, but Oliver, the German store manager for the Ikea Brooklyn store did gvie us the items we were missing.

Jodi and Hans joined us and got a few things for themselves. We took the Pier 11 ferry back and forth. On the way back in was dinner time, so stopped at Uno's on South Seaport, it was nice.

Here is a picture of Nicole by an ice skating rink on the seaport:

Xmas pics

About a month late, the xmas party from work pics, below.

Jesus Inopia

Jesus ate at famous Inopia Bar in Barcelona recently, a pic of one the tapas they had. We have to go next time I am there, we were planning on having dinner there over the holidays but it was closed unfortunately.

He is expecting delivery of his new shiny Porsche Boxter S on Tuesday!
