Sunday

The weekends go by so fast! Three sports headlines I was interested in today:

1. Nadal beat Federer in the final at Hamburg today
2. Big Brown, the winner of the Kentucky Derby, pulled away to win the Preakness Stakes, the second leg of racing’s Triple Crown, and became the first horse to win both races since 2004.
3. The Lakers, with Pau Gasol, advance to the NBA finals

Dead bikes

It's common to see "dead bikes" on the streets of NYC. What happens is that unsuspecting owners tie them up to poles or designated bike areas which happen to be too close to the street pavement. When cars, or more often trucks park or maneuver in the streets, they go up on the sidewalks and poor bikes end up being colateral damange, and become mangled and destroyed.

Here is a good example on the sidewalk of 5th ave and 34th St, in front of NYU's graduate center, which I captured today on my phone:

Fri

Friday, weekend, yay. Rainly all day and super chilly, had to seal all windows again, like 45 degrees out right now. Got home just a bit ago. Need to take care of a couple things. Also, sounds like I may be on a business trip towards the end of the month to Boston, but should be brief, just one day I think.

12:08 am

It's Friday (barely). Weekend here again, weeks fly by so fast. Just met for dinner with Hans after work, we went into Playwright, upstairs. It's too loud downstairs with Karaoke and all on Thursdays. Good day at work, lots of cool stuff happening. Nice mild weather today, but I think it's supposed to rain tomorro and over the weekend, which is fine. Haven't responded to my person email in 2 or 3 days, have to deal with it.
Syesha got kicked out of Idol, which was predictable, setting up a David vs. David finale. Hope Cook wins, he is more contemporary and a lot more orginal. I helped Nicole install the Rosetta Stone software a few days ago, she is learning Spanish . Not much else happening.

Tue

Late Tue, or Wed AM. Watched One Tree Hill, which is finally getting interesting now that we have one episode left, and fast forwarded through American Idol. As I may have said before, I find myself not caring too much about any of the contestants and wishing for SYTYCD soon. Of the 3 left, I think by far David Cook is the best.

Anywayz, just finishing a download of a third OSX distro called Kalyway. I couldn't get Leo4all to work on my laptop, but I didn't try too hard. Still have to try iATKOSv1r2.
