Bon Jovi

Went to see Bon Jovi at the Hammerstein Ballroom last night, very cool concert. Packed with people. Small venue, so we were pretty close. High energy, albeit a bit short, no encores. The weather was terrible, snowing all day, then frozen rain overnight. The rain helped melt all the snow, pretty much all gone by this morning. Fairly long day at work, got home a bit ago. Had a quick bite with Hans for dinner.

Pau Gasol

Continues to kick butt at the Lakers, they won again this evening. He has had several great games, and Koby says "with Pau onboard now we have something that has to be dealt with".

ATT wireless data roaming

I saw that ATT is going to partner with Starbucks to replace TMobile at their coffee shops, interesting. They offer a better overall deal, so it's good for us, the consumers. I wonder how come TMobile didn't put up more of a fight.

Anyway, while on the topic, I will say that international data roaming is ridiculously expensive, a total rip off. I got the bill from ATT for my blackberry while in Spain over Christmas and it is over $300 in data roaming, just for using GMail and Google Maps a couple times for a few moments. They charge some huge amount per Kb. Voice roaming, in comparison, is pretty reasonable. Don't know how they are able to get away with it. Related, the European Union has asked this week to all carriers that they lower their international SMS fees, which are also way too high, another rip off.

Monday

Typical Monday, long day, just got home from work a few minutes ago. Incredibly cold this morning, like 9 F (-13 C or so), with strong gusts of wind, I thought my face was going to fall off on my way to the office . Luckily I had my space heater at work, so I kep my desk reasonably warm. The office has these old windows that don't seal or isolate very well, so when it's really cold out you can feel it.

Forgot to mention that I had dinner at The Peking Duck House last night with a few friends and colleagues. Excellent duck, delicious!

I still haven't done my taxes, no time. Maybe in 2 or 3 weeks. I know it will take the better part of a weekend.

Sunday

Had dinner at Irving Mill Restaurant last night, it was good. Got a txt from Hans saying they ate at Crispo and Jodi really liked it. After dinner we went to 1849 then The Dove at the West Village. Got home fairly late, got up late this morning. Talked to my parents, and now getting ready to meet Jose for lunch by Union Square.
