Amazon announced that they have opened the Kindle to third party app developers. That's great, Google, Apple and Amazon are now going at it. Big money in the app marketplaces.
Another cool trailer I just saw: Legion.
ffw'ing through a real world dc episode, it's just ok. in between saw a trailer for The Wolfman, that looks cool! gotta see it. eating dinner, great byzantine olive mix.
the 2.5" HD I have ordered arrived, a simple 320 Mb momentus drive. also, the BR disks spindle arrived as well, but not the BR burner yet. hopefully tomorrow, so i can install it on my desktop over the weekend. Used an OO to get it.
got home, getting ready for dinner - tomato bread with serrano ham, delish. kinda cool out, we stood outside and talked for a few minutes and felt it.
the marble polish stuff i ordered has all arrived. it's all high grade pro stuff, will test it out when i get a chance.
Six years since it first applied for it, Google has finally received a patent for its MapReduce parallel programming model. Unbelievable. Bah, further evidence that the whole patent system is broken, how can they give them a patent for that?? “Map” and “reduce” functions have been around for a long, long time, Google didn’t invent MapReduce, that's just silly.
Hopefully they won't do anything evil with the patent, more likely to be a defensive move than anything else.
