Found my old Apex DVD player in a box while cleaning up a closet. It's the infamous AD-600A, manufactured in 2000, the super hacker-friendly model sold thru Circuit City stores. It sold out fast once the techies understood all it could do. Not worth much anymore, but it still works, still region free, MP3 playback, and so on

Ugh, been sick for 2 days, in bed with food poisoning. Just getting up today for the first time. Still a little dizzy, and with abdominal pain, but the fever is down. Hope I can recover quickly from here. We had to cancel several appointments and things we were going to do today

It's snowing right now in Manhattan, a good deal of snow has falled overnight. The cleaning crews have done a good job at keeping the streets usable. Nicole had to cancel some of her appointments this morning due to the snow and road conditions outside the city.

Here is a picture of the corner of 14th street and 5th Ave, taken from my apartment. You can see there is a bit of accumulation, but still fine to drive.

Fabulous soccer game this evening which I TiVo'd and watched tonight. Game 1 of 2 on the Copa del Rey competition (Spanish Cup). Both teams deserving, but Barcelona won again thanks to Puyol, Messi and Abidal, 2 to 1. Very vibrant play all the way thru the 70-th minute or so. After the second Barca goal things got more tense, as they usually do in these games. Very entertaining to watch nevertheless.

And Pepe disgraces Real's image (again), by the way.
