Java + MS
I am not sure Microsoft's marketing department quite knows what they are doing judging from the latest Java Update package for Windows. I noticed the little tray icon saying there was a new update available this morning, when i clicked OK, it started installed. Along the way it prompted me for various crapware things to install with it, annoying practice by lots of installers these days, and of course I unchecked everything. One of them was the bing toolbar, fine. But then the very next one was an ad prompting me to get Open Office, in direct competition with MS Office. Why would you advertise with Sun, who is always going to push their product right next to your stuff, bad choice. Find some other software to put your ads right next to, and not a direct competitor.
JPMC Corporate Challenge + José Saramago
A couple more things I forgot to mention, haven't been blogging that much this week. First, yesterday I ran on the JPMC Corporate Challenge. Had a big and everything 
. It was with my company, about 80 of us went. Took place in Central Park like every year. When we finished, we had a party at the Boat Basin on the Upper West Side, it was super nice. Great weather too.
And in other news, completely unrelated, yesterday died José Saramago. The Portuguese writer who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1998 with novels that combine surrealist experimentation with a kind of sardonic peasant pragmatism, died on Friday at his home in Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. He was 87.
Also, the Lakers beat the Celtics Thu night, and that means Gasol got his second ring, very cool

friday night
some interesting results in the world cup games yesterday and today, hehe. the us doing quite well actually, very good.
traded some txt's with bobby, he is following it as well. we had a mini party at red sky after work today, people did some karaoke and stuff, fun. just downloaded the spanish subtitles for twilight, so my parents can watch it too. maybe tomorrow. the wd live tv is so excellent. gotta go to bed soon, a little tired tonight.

Lamo Spain lost 1-0 today, so bad. Can't believe they didn't manage to beat even Switzerland. Now they will have to win both next games to even have a chance. Well, I guess it shouldn't be that surprising, same every World Cup.
Long week at work, just got home a few min ago. Gotta read the newspaper, hang out for a while. Maybe watch The Hills
