Bugs and Annoyances

BTW, I've meaning to mention this for a while, so before I forget:

1) The TW HD DVR has a minor flaw when recording shows. Randomly, about once every 5 shows, it doesn't "rewind" the recorded show. Meaning, when you try to start watching it, it is at the last minute of the recorded show. That may accidentally reveal details of what happened, or may cause you to see what's coming up on the next episode. Not good. Kind of annoying.

2) The new Chase ATMs are very fast, I will give them that. However, they have started sticking offers at the end of your transactions. For example, you withdraw money and when done they will ask you if you want to sign up for a credit card. That would be OK if done out of process, meaning once your session is over. The problem is that they do it within your session. So, they effectively force you to hang around and answer yes or no to whatever they ask you. Otherwise the machine says "Do you need more time?" That sucks, I don't want to have to answer at all, when I am done I want to talk away and have the session expire in 3 seconds or less, very annoying. Bank of America does something similar with their credit cards, when you logout from your online session, the insert an offer before your session is over - bad, bad, marketers. I consider these practices intrusive.

Tue evening

Another nice and sunny day. Stopped by work one last time to finish cleaning up my items, will work from home as needed the rest of the week. Start at my new place on Monday, cool. Saw Joel briefly, he is doing quite well. Having lunch with R tomorrow. Talking about lunch, getting hungry, I had lunch early today. I need to run a few errands (bank, drugstore, etc.) so I am going to head out shortly and I will probably bring back something to eat. Went to a matinee and saw Spider-Man 3, it was OK. Planning on going out for a while later tonight. Probably the East Village. We'll see.

MS

Microsoft's take on the computer of the future, check it out. StarTrek anyone?

Spring pics

Posted a few pics I've take this past week, just random stuff. The crushed bike I'd been meaning to photograph for a while. I totally so that happen live on 15th and 9th ave. This tow truck crushed it and left. They could see it was happening too, they just didn't care. I guess the owner decided to leave it right there as urban art
