late june

monday, almost tue. cleaned up my dvr box, all kinds of re-runs. living room painted white, thanks to my dad , awesome. looks great. tomorrow spain plays portugal, i hope we can take them, should be able to. super hot day in nyc, like 96 F today. i think it gets much better tomorrow and then for the remainder of the week. wanted to go to the AOR concert today, but didn't make it, got out of work too late. need to read the paper for a while before i head to bed.

in tech news, can't believe apple has sold already 1.7mm iphone 4's. i will get one, just not yet, probably for xmas once they iron out all the bugs and release a couple iterations of the firmware.

noticed facebook keeps snatching up google talent, the guy in charge of chrome OS is the last facebook steal, nice.

been using www.veetle.com to watch the world cup games. works surprisingly well on the iphone via quicktime streaming. really cool and easy way to watch the game wherever you are. requires a decent 3g connection (or wifi.)

i have a wifi repeated coming in the mail. i want to see if i can extend the range of my current home network.

ok, enough stuff for today

Sun evening

Super hot day in NYC. 2 Great World Cup games today, Germany crushed England and Argentina did the same with Mexico. That setups up an incredible match up for next weekend: Germany vs. Argentina. Tomorrow Netherlands and Brazil should move thru as well.

Lunch at Fig and Olive Meatpacking with my parents, very good

England vs. Germany

The game about to start, got up early to watch, should be pretty exciting!

Went to Ikea yesterday, picked up new bathroom vanities, skinks, faucets. It was an all day event, as usual. One of the faucents was sold out, so they had to return the money and i had to pick up another one. Took foreeeever.

Watched Housewives of NJ w/ Nicole for a while, and we went to be relatively early.

html5 + css3

cool way to display browser readiness for html5 and css3. about time, html4 hasn't been revised in forever, and css was revamped but has not been seriously revised in a long time as well.

OnLive

I was checking this out recently, very cool service. Free account if you qualify for the first year via their "founding members" program, good idea. Impressive technology. I really like the idea of having a small box, the size of a deck of cards, that you can hook up to a tv and play from anywhere, with the game and your status rendered from and saved to the cloud. Awesome.
