Palm Treo dbfixit2

Nicole's Palm Treo was having some trouble sync'ing up to the new laptop. Turns out her calendar db was corrupted. Had to tinker with it for a while until I found this software, dbFixIt2 which lets you (easily) repair any Palm db files. I had to pay $13 for it, but it was worth it, worked right away. Pretty heat how somebody has built a super niche business out of repairing damaged Palm files. Apparently happens all the time, a byproduct of trying to sync the same device to 2 different computers and let the HotSync software do a full 2 way sync on both.

Carriers

Watched this movie, Carriers, while I was putting together the photo album. I was not impressed, it's pretty weak, typical zombie/contagious virus, etc. Nothing new or original brought to the table. The IMDB rating wasn't be, 6.5. Oh well. At least I only gave it 25% of my attention, not totally wasted time, playing on my second monitor, which BTW I have hooked up in landscape mode (so, the primary is running at 1920x1200 and the secondary at 1200x1600)

alright, everything went well yesterday, nicole's family had a good time. lots of food, and tons of leftovers, we'll have enough for like 2 weeks . slept in today, still feeling the chest and coughing, will stay in and rest, hope i can make it into work tomorrow.

time to read the papers now. and there is a big soccer game coming up! barca plays madrid.

sat - family dinner

nicole is finalizing the preparations, her family is visiting today. we borrowed a table from our building and extended our table fully so we can host everybody for dinner. people will start arriving around 1 pm, i believe. have to get ready myself.

we watched all the episodes we had left form the vampire chronicles yesterday, and got about 30 min into New Moon.
