Lunch

Forgot to say, today went for lunch to The Hog Pit on 13th and 9 Ave, across from Vento, with everybody from work. Pretty "low end" place, I think it's been there forever, before the area turned "cool." The food is just OK, nothing too great. They was a photoshoot right outside and a whole crew, including models . It was for some fashion magazine, somebody asked but I forget.

Roland Garros

And Nadal wins in 3 sets. The final will be Sunday with Federer, the number 1 vs the number 2 in the world, should be quite interesting

Timing

It's interesting how randomness affects the daily commute. Some days I get to the bus stop on 34th St. exactly when an M16 or M34 arrive, get dropped off on 34th and 8th ave, and catch a subway exactly when I enter the station. When that happens I'm at work in like 15 min or less. Other days it's the opposite: I wait for 10 minutes or more at the bus stop, and another 10 for the subway, which makes the commute go up to 40 min.

World Cup

The World Cup started today. Germany beat Costa Rica easily, 4-2. Looking forward to the England game tomorrow. It's a bit early, 9 am, but should be doable

Tennis

Roland Garros semifinal on ESPN2, Rafael Nadal trying to make it to the final. That would pair him up with the world #1: Federer. Everybody's been wishing for that final, let's see what happens. Nadal is only 20 (!) and hasn't lost a match in a long long time.

Went out for a while last night, stayed in midtown. Went to this place within walking distance, Kevin St James. Been there a few times. They have a nice bartender, Steve, and another one who is pretty rude, Matt or something. Stayed for a while, not too crazy busy, it was raining out. Ran into Laura and Monica (who are from Russia and Brazil respectively,) who are quasi-regulars I guess.
