Free game

Caught up with an old friend, Steve, for a while. Just ate something as well, watched a bit of TV. Can't believe how warm it is out, feels like summer. May meet with Jose later on. I still have to post the pics from the recent trip to Spain, see if I can get around to it. Called TW about this odd "Operator Services" line item on my bill, which was like $20. Turns out one of my recent guests must have made an operator-initiated call, tsk, tsk.

Baseball Mogul 2007
I see Baseball Mogul 2007is available for free for a limited time. The connection is slow, their bandwidth is probably getting slammed.

Links & Mr Softee

I expanded my Links section (red hand side) to include a few more, includin'g Renee's and Mirm's sites. The Mister Softee story on Mirm's blog is priceless, so funny! Check it out.

YouTube error

I got a server error today while playing around with YouTube, kind of unusual. Here it is, added to my collection of "500 Internal Server Errors":

Truck accident, customer service

Excellent customer service message from Blue Fly, where I bought some clothes recently. Amazingly, the truck that transported my stuff was in an accident, and all the parcels were destroyed. Pretty wild, had never had that happen before. They automatically re-shipped me the items I had bought. The message I received is below:

Restaurants & RIAA

Just called Del Posto and changed our reservation to include Rene, later this month. Getting hungry myself now, should procure something to eat.

In totally unrelated news, I saw the RIAA got its way and a Minnesota woman was fined $220,000 for illegally downloading music files . That may set a precedent for other recording industry lawsuits, which is not good. The amount of the fine is totally outrageous. The recording industry continues to fail to accept the fact its business model was completely obsolete and they gauged consumers for years and years, charging them ridiculous prices for CDs, most of which contained only a couple of good songs. Anyway, I don't think this will stop consumers from downloading, and certainly not across the globe, where file sharing is not considered illegal just yet.
