Geeky stuff

This evening I tinkered with my Shuttle BIOS and configured it for DOC (Dynamic Overclocking). That means the mo/bo will automatically increase the bus speed dynamically when needed, whenever there is demand for processing power. I set it to 10% which means it will accelerate my CPU all the way up to 3.3 GHz, cool.

I was reading more about Windows 7 and I found something that made me smile: one of the new UX features is that, whenever your desktop is cluttered, you can grab the window you care most about and shake it with your mouse. That makes all other windows minize - very clever

Sunday

Sundays are great, slept in this morning, then cleaned up my closet, got a haircut, read the paper, ate lunch - awesome panini that Nicole made in her shiny new panini maker . Now ready to head to Home Depot, need a few things (my shower shelf broke, etc.)

BTW, tried to install Windows 7 on one of my table PCs this morning, but the upgrade advisor said it would not work because I don't have enough RAM, needs 1 Gb and I have 512. May have to look around for a bit more memory, maybe I will take it from the other tablet temporarily. Also, I noticed TVersity on the server eats up quite a bit of memory, about 400 Mb when it's running. May have to put in some more memory, that box only has about 1 Gb if I recall correctly. Have tons of DDR around, should be able to pump that up to 2 Gb or more easily. Only trouble is that it will involve pulling it out and opening the case, etc. Kind of a pain since it's a bottom of the enternainment center, kinda hard to get to. I may leave that for next weekend.
