Sonos Ace

Been playing with a new pair of Sonos Ace headphones. They work "better" than traditional bluetooth headphones for late night TV watching because they receive the sound straight from my Act Ultra Bar. That means the sound is post processed from the HDMI input by the Arc Ultra, which creates a unique profile with spatial information for the Ace, and then sends it via WiFi. The quality is higher than the typical crummy stereo sound the TV sends directly to headphones.

We had a ton of Bose headphones which I still will continue to use. The Ace is pretty comfy for someone with a big melon like me... The switch works very well, but ONLY for TV sound, surprisingly you cannot do the same with music and you have to pair them as a regular bluetooth set. They look pretty in the cream white color. Battery life is outstanding at 30 plus hours.

Life of the swimmer parents

And last weekend we traveled 3 days in a row, once again, to the Nassau County Aquatic Center. Both Laia and Sofia swam on the LCM LIAC Speedo Challenge. Here we are just waving from the stands.

Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale

The last card I was missing from my vintage MTG collection is here! Nearly 30 years after I started collecting, now the Legends Full Set has been completed, yay!

Albert's very own copy of the Tabernacle Legends MTG - NM

Key Reasons why this has become a pricey card:

1) Low Supply: Released in 1994, Legends had a limited print run, and the card is on the Reserved List, meaning Wizards of the Coast will never reprint it, guaranteeing the supply remains fixed.
2) Unique Effect: The card provides a unique, asymmetrical board-wipe effect, making it unparalleled in controlling creature-heavy decks.
3) High Demand in Eternal Formats: It is a cornerstone card for "Lands" decks in Legacy, and also sees play in Vintage and Commander (EDH), ensuring consistent demand from competitive players.
4) "Reserved List" Speculation: As a rare, old, and highly functional card, it is a prime target for collectors and investors, driving up prices

Laia's MYP Project at Center Moriches School

We are so proud of Laia for her Middle Years Programme at her school. She and her 2 friends, after researching community needs, conceived and created an original healthy recipes book to help support nutrition education. Each recipe was detachable and individually usable, had original hand drawn art, and step by step instructions to create easy, delicious, balanced meals. They sold the book at local businesses and raised money that they donated to a local church and to a pantry! They sold out once and had to do a second run!
