Broadway Review: Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark

Nicole and I went to see the newest Broadway musical Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark. We actually liked it a lot, despite all the bad reviews, delays and other controversy surrounding the show. The show is visually stunning, and the plot is fairly easy to understand and follow. It is still in "preview" mode which means things aren't 100% perfect - the production had to stop briefly for about 30 scenes in between scenes at one point, so actors could catch up - but the snags are very minor and do not detract from the overall result. The 2 lead actors are excellent, Peter Parker and MJ, do a great job with powerful voices. Peter is particularly good. The music from Bono and The Edge is quite good, fits the show well. The guy playing the Green Goblin is another one of the highlights, he is great.

The flight stunts are unlike anything you've seen before. They move very fast, and some of the scenes are visibly dangerous, particularly when Spider-Man jumps on top of the Goblin both flying at high velocity on different paths and heights across the theater.

Standing ovation at the end of the show.
