TWC SMTP
Man, looks like TWC changed their SMTP relaying policy yet again and recently decided to report their entire dynamic blocks (Road Runner customers) to spamhaus and spamblock. They are not explictly forbidding the IPs from sending mail, but in effect, having them on spamblock lists essentially means nobody is going to let you relay messages, booo.
That means I had to disable my old trusty Mercury server, it's no good as a stand-along SMTP server anymore. Looking for a way around this so that my home server can send email again to all third party domains, I proceeded to enable and configure Window Server's built in STMP virtual server, and set it up to work using Time Warne's smtp outbound servers as smart hosts. That worked, and all seems back to normal now. I will test tomorrow from a remote domain to make sure I got the relay control and rules setup right and I am not an open relay ![]()
