Using the "A word or phrase in the file" search criterion may not work
I'd run into this a number of times but had never had the patience to find out the reason - Microsoft Knowledge Base Article ID:309173. I use this type of a search all the time. I can't believe the implementation of search within documents is so weak, bad Microsoft. And the solution isn't easy by any means. Seems like tons more people should have run into this as well and made more noise about it, it's a pretty important feature. Guess people just rely on other software, such as Google Desktop search.
