Friday IROC Race

Champ Car champion Sebastien Bourdais became just the fourth foreign-born driver to win an IROC (International Race of Champions) race, leading the final 22 laps Friday night at Texas after Kurt Busch suffered the same fate that has plagued him in the NASCAR Nextel Cup series.

Bourdais also held off a late charge by NASCAR's Mark Martin, the winningest driver in 31 years of the International Race of Champions. Martin, who started at the back of the 12-car field, finished second.

I watched the race from the top floor of a condo building at the track. Pretty cool, amazing view of the entire track and the infield.

Texas Motor Speedway

In Dallas, TX. First time here.

Shane Hmiel knocked Martin Truex Jr. from the Busch Pole late in Thursday's qualifying session and will lead the field to the green flag to start Saturday's O'Reilly 300 at Texas.

Wed night

Back in NY, just for an evening. I leave for Dallas tomorrow morning. It's a little chillier here than it was in Cinci. I think it's supposed to be very warm in Dallas and San Antonio.

Mon evening

Meeting Doug for dinner tonight, a very good friend. May stop by Murphy's later.

Stopped by Pachinko's briefly last night, talked to Natalie, the owner. She is super-cool . The Mighty Ducks were hanging out there too, kind of neat.

Sun afternoon

Uneventful flight this morning. Cincinnati is so quiet and peaceful. Super-nice weather, like in the mid 70's, way warmer than NYC. Checked into the Millennium around 1 pm:

I've stayed here a few times before, so I'm quite familiar with it.

Listened to the Barca-Madrid soccer game, Madrid won 4-2

I'm going to meet Todd, a friend, for dinner at Longhorn (one of my favorite places.)
