So, as a follow up to the Michelin post, Hans recommended this book:



The Perfectionist : Life and Death in Haute Cuisine

It is about the three-star chef in France who committed suicide because he thought he was being demoted from three Michelin stars to two. Apparently it has all the information you would ever want to know about the Michelin rating system.

I guess I will have to add it to my reading list. The new guide itself should arrive any day now.

Stayed in for the most part today. Watching some episodes of Lost.

Also caught Looker earlier on HDNet-2 by chance, a 1981 sci-fi thriller with Susan Dey (below,) James Coburn (as the bad guy,) and Alber Finney. Odd but interesting movie. The predictions about virtual-reality and computer-generated digital actors were dead on, impressive for a 25 year old movie.
